DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURE TAKES TIME TO LET EMPLOYEES RECUPERATE 

The Department will be temporarily closed after success of this year’s annual AgriFest

Kingshill, V.I., June 1, 2022 – Positive T.A. Nelson, Commissioner of Agriculture, wishes to advise the community that the Department will be closed to the public, allowing for employees to recover from their extraordinary efforts put forth in preparation for the 50^th Anniversary of AgFair.  Services to the public will be closed from Monday, June 6^th – Friday, June 10^th, 2022. Regular service hours for most divisions will resume Monday, June 13^th, 2022.

Abattoir – Closed to the public to complete required water quality testing and to ensure the filtration system infrastructure updates are completed in advance; tentatively scheduled to resume services Monday, June 13^th, 2022. An update to confirm re-opening will be released.

Market – June 4^th, 2022 – Final weekend of the Farmers Market being hosted at La Reine, across the street from Pueblo; hours of operation for the Exchange will be 4:30 AM – 2:00 PM. For more information, please contact Program Manager, Maxine Richards, at 340) 778-0993 or 340) 778-0995.
