November 27, 2020, US Virgin Islands – Beginning Friday, November 27, 2020 the Virgin Islands Department of Agriculture (VIDA) will be accepting applications for its NEW Beekeeping Training Program. Intentionally designed to help bolster the bee population in the Virgin Islands, this program will train interested individuals on the basics of establishing a beekeeping colony and the benefits of beekeeping alongside crop production.
Bees are quintessential to the production of food, and an increase in the number of individuals engaged in beekeeping will enhance crop pollination and may help improve production yields and the market competitiveness of specialty crops and other flowering plants in the US Virgin Islands.
Individuals interested in this program will need to submit a “Beekeeping Training Application” via hand delivery to the Marketing Division in our VIDA Offices or via email at: firstname.lastname@example.org by December 28, 2020 at 11:59pm AST.
