Dear Farming Community:

Thank you for all of the ideas, suggestions, and input that you have provided to the Plan Task Force as we work to develop a comprehensive Agricultural Plan for the Virgin Islands, pursuant to the mandates of Act 8404.

Through its commitment to including and communicating with members of the Virgin Islands Farming Community in this process, the Task Force held its 4th Town Hall Meeting on Thursday, September 23, 2021.  As agreed, the Task Force is transmitting the extended PowerPoint Presentation of our preliminary findings and recommendations for your review and feedback.  Please pay close attention to slides 22 through 49, which contain the draft recommendations of the eight mandates. In addition, kindly complete the VI Agricultural Plan Task Force Comments & Engagement Form how these recommendations can be improved.

As we continue to our outreach activities to our Farmers:

  1. Please find below our results of the Farmers Engagement Survey as of September 29, 2021. If you have not yet participated in the Farmers Engagement Survey, we encourage you to do so! You may click the following link to access the survey, https://bit.ly/VIFarmersSurvey.
  2. We have presented three proposed designs for a Local Food Symbol, as created by three local Graphic Design Artists. Please use the below Comments & Engagement Form to share your feedback!

We would appreciate receiving your comments by October 11, 2021, to include them in our discussions about the final plan.

Should you have any questions or concerns, you may contact the Task Force via email at agplan@doa.vi.gov or via telephone at (340) 693-1003.

Thank you all for your time, patience, and wisdom.

Sincerely,

David Hall
